Darcy joined us for our interview seminar on April 29 and the quality of information inspired her to recreate her resume with an employer lens in mind. This is what she had to say about spending just a few hours with us:
I was still viewing job interviews with the old school mentality, the subordinate trying to sell myself to prospective employers with a list of skills rather than making my goal to educate my peers about myself (the business of me) and how I would help their company. I like the idea that one should approach an interview as a business meeting, because that doesn’t have the same negative connotation and leave you feeling as vulnerable.
It was also very helpful to hear what interviewers are really looking for when they ask certain questions. When you have a better understanding of the underlying meaning you are better equipped to respond in a manner that will make you a more desirable candidate.
Thank you Darcy for the positive feedback and we wish you the best of luck in your job search endeavors! Looking for a revolutionary career experience that’ll up your interview game and give you a whole new outlook on your professional journey, like our friend Darcy? Our next interview seminar is on Thursday, May 22 from 4-6 p.m. at Career Reform HQ.
